There are two underlying goals behind HMC's first CD, "One Soul at a Time". First, and more obviously, we are trying to raise money for our 2005 Summer Missions where we will be going away to the 6 Nations Reserve. As the focus on missions becomes stronger at HMC, it is the hope that the funds raised through this CD will bring about greater mission opportunities. The second and more important goal for this CD is to realize the vision of our church.
Our church and our ministry have been on a steady uprise over the past few months. We've been getting closer to each other, and more importantly, closer to God. However, our vision, "To save the unchurched one soul at a time," calls for us to dive deeper. We cannot be satisfied with where we are. There are lost souls who need to hear the gospel, whether it is through sermon or song. We believe it is time for us to step out of the comforts of our own surrounding and spread His good news.
The cover of the CD shows a simple radio alone on a table. Use this radio to represent a single soul. Turned off, it is nothing more than scraps of metal and plastic. Turned on, it can either play the music of our own dreary selves, or it can play God's beautiful music and captivate an audience. We must tune on our souls our frequencies to God - and in turn help tune those around us towards Him.
Each song on this CD was birthed out of prayer and experience. It is our hope and desire that these songs will help HMC recognize our calling and save one soul at a time.
01. Intro (One Soul at a Time)
Words by James Suh. Music by Mike Ha.
One soul at a time. We'll add to your kingdom. One soul at a time. You will be lifted high. One soul at a time. Your name will be glorified. One soul at a time
02. As Your Child
Words and Music by Mike Ha.
Lift me up. Onto your shoulders. Father teach me all your ways. Teach me how to be more like you. My arms are reaching for you. Morning, evening, every day.
As your child, I'll give praise to you.
Even if I don't know how to sing or dance I'll sing and dance for you my Father.
La la la la la your joy will never leave my heart, I will always dedicate all of my love.
To you my father God.
Raise me up. Onto your table. To share in the splendor of your ways. And I can rejoice,
rejoice in your presence. Morning, evening, every day.
As your child I'll give praise to you.
03. Surrounding
Words and Music by Noah Suh.
Words can't express the extent of your greatness. Amazing grace, your faithfulness.
I can't describe it; your love is like diamonds. Oh precious rock I trust in you.
You are the maker, the creator. Of all things surrounding.
You are the mountains and the oceans. The blooms of spring, for you they sing.
Lord of heaven, Lord of nations. King of kings above everything.
Bright lights in the night sky. I see who you are in all those stars.
I can't make sense of the scent of your fragrance. You sacrificed to clean my hands. I can't deny your mercy saved my life. Oh mighty God, I trust in you.
Words can't express the extent of your greatness. Amazing grace, your faithfulness.
"This song was intended to be an acoustic song for the fundraiser-HMC praise CD.
I wrote the song a few weeks before the cd was released. It is actually my first
completed praise song to God. God inspired the lyrics to use in this song, I
wanted the acoustic version to be put on the CD and hear the song for praise on Sunday worship.
However, after hearing all the other songs, we thought it would be too empty.
The bass line kicks the song up a notch, but I still love singing this song with a guitar."
Noah Suh
04. Shining Light
Words and Music by Mike Ha.
I lay me down here at your feet. Completely unworthy. Lord break me now, empty all of me. Then fill me with your glory. Oh God.
I long to be with you, my King. As a brand new creation. Come cover me with your grace, and love. And unending affection. Oh God.
Take all of me. Renew and refine me to be. A shining light.
To be used by you. May I be used by you.
I want to be used by you. As your shining light, as your shining light.
Oh God.
05. Away
Words and Music by Simon Leung.
You realize that all you know is fading.
The colors are already gone.
The days don't last, memories of living.
Conversations slip your mind.
You stay there reaching for what you can't deny.
But as you're seeking your heart just can't decide.
Remember leaving my presence on your own.
But I'm still waiting for you and you alone.
Will it be me in whom you reside.
Relieve your heart and rest by my side.
Will it be me to be your supply.
Provide your needs for the rest of your life.
You realize that childhood is chasing.
All the dreams you left behind.
The months are fast, routine leaves you bleeding.
Lifeless forces lead you on.
You realize that love is unforgiving.
When all you see are your own eyes.
The years are past, lovers left you lying.
Broken pieces left behind.
06. Just be with Me
Words and Music by Simon Leung.
Release your fears and sorrows.
Fall out the world of the fallen.
There's light so open your windows.
Just be with me.
Come see the sun that is setting.
Behold the stars that are shining.
Can you tell that I am so longing.
Just to be with you.
You name is written on my hand.
So know that I will be your man.
In everything and circumstance.
Eternally.
Believe that I will understand.
Your world and all of its demands.
For better or for worse I'll be.
Here with you.
You know that I am before you .
My hand is waiting to lead you.
In life there's so much to show you.
Just follow me.
In times when I hear you crying.
Don't leave cause I am arriving.
Unlock heart your heart I am knocking.
I'm here for you.
Just be with me.
I wanna be with you.
Just be with me.
I wanna be with you.
07. More of You (My Cup)
Words and Music by Tony Choi.
Unto you I offer.
All my everything, my hopes and dreams.
I give you my life; I'm out in the open.
Trusting and leaning not on me.
But all on you.
Nothing more I can give, then how I live my life for you.
For you, you, you.
You never change.
You're my rock, you're my strength, you are my God.
Holy Spirit fill me up.
Please fill my cup, my cup, my cup.
More of you and less of me.
Nothing more I can give, then how I live my life for you.
Use me for your glory, and not my own.
Less of me, more of you.
Less of me, more of you.
More of you, more of you.
"This is the first Christian song I have ever written.
I wrote this song at a time when I was coming back to the heart of worship and
when I was reaching for more ofGod. The lyrics are exactly what were on my heart at the time.
It's funny how this song came about, With minimal guitar experience I just started hitting the chords
I was familiar with and just started pretty much free styling whatever words were on my heart.
I then hit some chords that went along with what I was singing and thought that I should write it down on paper.
From that point on for about the next hour I went through some different sounds and voila, I created my first song.
After hearing the final product, I thought that it sounded ok. From that day on I have been writing songs since.
May we decrease so that Christ in us can increase, more of you Lord and less of me!"

08. Captivate
Words and Music by Mike Ha.
Everyday, You're with me.
And you're speaking to me.
So intimately.
Every breath that I breathe.
May it glorify your name.
Always.
Awesome creator, I'm humbled at your feet.
Wonderful maker, you're my everything.
I am in awe of you.
I am in awe of you.
I am in awe of you.
Captivate me again.
Everyday, I see new colors.
U use to paint the sunrise.
U light up my eyes.
When I pray, in my secret place.
You're spirit's leading me.
Into your grace.
I see your glory everyday.
In everything I do and say.
I feel your presence over me.
You're everything I'll ever need.
I love the way your stars shine.
I love the way your mountains stretch so high.
Your face lights up the darkest night.
And I am, I am, I am.
09. Your Glory in Me
Words and Music by James Suh.
How many countless times have I seen your grace, and pushed it away.
To be one with the world, I wanted nothing more.
I'm falling so fast into this hole, with nothing to hold.
Don't bother Lord, 'cause I'm not worth it.
Sin has taken a hold of me.
I'm trying but I can't breathe.
How can you see, your glory in me.
When I'm filled with this shame, just look at my face.
It covers me, and I can't break free.
I don't deserve this, to be in your midst Lord.
I say that I love you; I say that I need you, but what does it mean.
I really want to know you more (And more and more and more).
I don't want to live two lives anymore.
Come help me Lord, I'm here at your mercy.
And through my weakness you saw in me.
The light that would set me free.
And now I see, your glory in me.
I'm filled with this grace, just look at my face.
It covers me, I am so free.
I don't deserve this, to be in your midst Lord.
Salvation has come for me, your sprit comforts me.
Now I'm here on my knees, come set me free.
"While I have been trying to write songs for years, this song was by far the easiest to write. Over the past year I have dealt with about a gazillion issues and there were times where I just felt so ashamed and unworthy to worship God. But I realized that it is through our weaknesses and iniquities that God can use us. Only when we strip ourselves naked of all pride and independence can God begin to work in us. He loves us and wishes to see His glory shine through us; we just have to allow Him to do it."
