Indoor Gym Facility Completed
July 11, 2004
HMC has been blessed with a new indoor gym facility. It's been a long process but one of vision and growth when our current location, 81 Curlew Drive, was purchased and 1000 days of fasting and prayer was initiated for the renovation phases. Many thanks to all the workers and administrators who served God in this project and above all to God's direction and provisions. With HMC's vision to save the unchurched one soul at a time, this gym will be an awesome way to bring people together. HMC hosted its first basketball tournament, inviting the community, in this new gym on August 14, 2004. Every Friday night, there is a Sports Night that we invite and welcome anyone who would like to join in. Click here for details on the HMC Gym Schedule.
HMC Christian Summer School
July 5 - 30, 2004
HMC held a Christian Summer School in July and it was a wonderful success. It was carried out over a 4-week period, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Age groups ranged from Kindergarten to Grade 6 with around 50 children enrolled, from the community and from HMC. The purpose of this summer school was to invite the community and provide an environment where children could mature academically within a Christian setting. With hard-working teachers and assistants, courses such as English, Art, French, Music, Science, Math and Gym along with a time of Bible Study were offered to the children. A barbecue outing to Woodbine beach capped off a great time of teaching and bonding with the kids in the community.
Annual Christmas Potluck
December 18, 2004
It was a great time of fellowship, catching up with one another and sharing great food to celebrate Christmas together.
Muskoka Winter Retreat
October 22 - 24, 2004
In the fall of 2004, HMC had its first retreat at Muskoka Woods. Although our church had retreats in the past under the name of "Somang", this was a great way for our new members and old members to become closer to one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. The overall retreat was a success with a time of meditation, fellowship, fun and games, and a very cold baptism in the lake. Many people have gotten closer as a result of the retreat and many of us believe that it has made HMC stronger as well.
JAMA "New Awakening 2004"
September 10 - 12, 2004

Women's Annual Slo-Pitch Tournament (hosted by Westside)
August 13-14, 21, 2004
After over 10 years of trying to win the Woman's Softball Title and coming up short, our HMC ladies were determined to make this the year. With a mix of wily old vets and new up-in-comers our ladies sacrificed much of their time and committed to practicing every week for 3 straight months. At the end, our ladies had completed the road to the championship and brought back HMC's 1st Women's Softball Title.
First Annual Men's Slo-Pitch Tournament (hosted by HMC)
July 10, 2004
Having watched our ladies go to battle every year for an established annual Women's Softball Tournament, HMC decided to host it's 1st annual Men's Softball Tournament. There was lots of food and prizes along with a short sermon during lunch by our very own Tae. With over 150 players turn out for a full day of fun with fellow believers and seekers, it turned out to be a great success.
Good Friday Service "Imagine the Alternative"
April 9, 2004
We invited the community to celebrate the passion of Jesus in our HMC Good Friday Service. The Good Friday service focused on the theme "Imagine the Alternative." It was about the "What If?" Jesus could have given up but he didn't. He died for us. If Jesus had not died and resurrected, all our hope and faith would be meaningless. Download event poster.
